Spider Baby (1968) was filmed at the Smith Estate in Los Angeles. In the film, the house appears to be isolated. However, in reality, the house is surrounded by the road. Because of this, they could only shoot the house from certain angles. Director Jack Hill revisited the house a few years ago for a featurette on the DVD titled The Merrye House Revisited.

The Smith Estate was also used in The Silent Scream (1980). Even though it wasn't released until 1980, filming took place in March of 1978.

According to IMDB, the house was also featured in an episode of the TV series Falcon Crest (1981) (IMDB) titled Liars Anonymous.

UPDATE: This house was used for Insidious: Chapter 2 (2013) as the family's new home. The opposite side of the house was used, so it looks different from what was shown in Spider Baby and Silent Scream.
