  1. Great site. You don't happen to know what graveyard the stone wall and headstone are in, do you? I am headed that way this week, thought I'd look around...

  2. Hope this reaches you in time. The headstone is in the First Church Cemetery. It is located near the intersection of Town St (Route 151) and Orchard Rd in East Haddam, CT.

The cemetery is located next to the First Congressional Church, and the headstone belongs to Venture Smith, who you can read about here:

  3. Thanks so much. Got your reply just in time to run over to the cemetery and take some pictures. Also went to the house twice, and up to the House by the Cemetery.

  4. Any idea what street the house in Old Saybrook is on?

  5. It's on Route 154 (Middlesex Turnpike).

If you copy and paste the coordinates given into Google or Bing Maps, it'll take you right to the house.

  6. Actually you can see the street view of the store in Chester. Just punch in the coordinates in google maps and hit streetview at the River Tavern and "walk" up the street a little bit. The store is dead ahead at the next intersection.
