Cherry Falls (2000)

Cherry Falls (2000) was filmed in Virginia.  Interesting choice of state, given the film's plot.

The high school featured in the film is Thomas Jefferson High School in Richmond, Virginia.  In the film, it was renamed George Washington High School.  There was supposedly a bit of controversy over filming there, as parents were not too thrilled about the movie's subject matter.  Some parents tried to have the production banned from the high school, but by the time they had banded together the scenes there had already been finished.

The town exteriors were filmed primarily in Warrenton, Virginia.  This includes the exteriors of the police station, which Jody is seen leaving at the end of the movie.  The police station exterior is actually the Warrenton Town Hall.  As she leaves, she sees a brief glimpse of Laura Lee Sherman standing in front of a store called Designs By Teresa, which is a real store in Warrenton.
