The graduation speech was filmed in front of the Soldiers And Sailors National Military Museum And Memorial in Pittsburgh. This building also served as a Memphis, Tennessee courthouse in the film The Silence Of The Lambs (1991) where Hannibal Lecter is detained (and eventually escapes). The building's actual interiors were used in this famous scene. Interiors were also briefly used in the film Bob Roberts (1992) during a debate scene.

The Theta Pi house is located just behind the Carnegie Library of Homestead. Actually, the boiler room of the Carnegie Library served as the basement of the Theta Pi house during a brief scene. Some of the interiors were filmed on sets built inside a warehouse near Crafton, Pennsylvania.
