Scream (1996)

The main houses from Scream (1996) are all pretty isolated.  It must have made filming easier, keeping the production away from prying eyes.

Casey Becker's House
Casey Becker's House

First up is Casey Becker’s house from the opening scene.  It is located pretty far back from the main road.  The production added the tree-swing in the front yard (seen in the first picture).  The owners liked the swing, and kept it there after the movie was finished.  Supposedly, there is still fake blood from the production on the swing.  One of the neighboring homes was used in the movie Cujo (1983) and the mini-series Roots (1977).  The path to the house is gated.

Sidney Prescott's House

Sidney’s house is also pretty far back from the road.  The property was known as the Rosita Ridge Ranch.  However, the property recently sold, so it could be going by another name now.  The path to this house is also gated.

Like the previous two houses, Stu’s house from the finale is also pretty far from the main road.  Rumors on the set were that the previous owners had died in the house shortly before filming.  The house has been renovated since filming.

  1. Do you have any more info about the Cujo location(s)?

  2. I haven't seen Cujo in a while, so I'm not sure. But I believe that the house / barn from the finale of Cujo is somewhere on Enterprise Rd, near the intersection of Sonoma Mountain Rd.

  3. My heart seriously stopped seeing the interior photos of Stu's house on the link you posted! Thank you so very much! I've been obsessed with all of the Scream locations for years and this is the first time I've come across any interior photos from that house.

  4. Glad I could help! Aside from the kitchen and the staircase, it looks extremely different than it did in the movie.

I think I found that link with pictures of the Becker house from one of your posts on the Scream message board. So thank you, too! :)

  5. How did you get pics of the interiors? Will any of the homeowners let fans onto the property?
