The titular house is located 20 miles away in Lakeville.  The large Victorian house appears to hold an attorney's office, known as Miller Tax Law.  The interior of the house was used in the film.  Since the film is set in the '80s, several alterations had to be made to de-modernize the house.  For example, a wall had to be built to hide a contemporary refrigerator.

  1. Ha, I knew it. The graveyard scene made me sure of it, but even the opening scenes looked familiar. They must've really powerwashed the area to get it looking clean.
Wish I knew when they were scouting flicks around here, I want to appear as "the bad guy" or "larynx eater".

  3. The scene when samantha is on the phone after the pizza delivery has a couple of connections to long island ny. The red emergency sticker says new hyde park, and the telephone she is calling from has a 516 area code which is Nassau county.
